Do the coasters and frame have to say the same thing as the board?

No. The board is engraved with the two lines of text you type, and the coasters and frame are engraved with whichever of the four coordinating designs you pick. Most people match the family name across all of them, but you can mix a monogram initial on the coasters with a full family name on the board if you prefer.

Which year should I put on the second line?

For a housewarming gift, use the year they got the keys, written as Est. 2026. If the set is for a couple who just moved in together, some people use their wedding year instead. Either reads correctly on the board. If you would rather skip it, leave line two blank and we center the name on its own.

Will the marble stain if he actually cuts and serves on it?

The marble half is sealed and resists moisture and everyday staining, so cheese, oils and berries wipe off. Hand wash the board with mild soap and dry it right away rather than leaving it wet in the sink. Do not put it in the dishwasher, since that will dry out the acacia over time.

Is personalization really free?

Yes, every item includes free personalization. Just enter your details on the product page and we'll customize it before shipping.

Once production starts, changes to personalization are not possible and once it is shipped changes to the shipping address is not possible.
