  • Senior Night Poster Ideas: Free Printable Templates, Sizes, and What to Write

by Shopify API Updated August 22, 2026

Every senior night has the same scene: a folding table of poster board, a parent with a paint pen, and twenty minutes before the team walks. This page is the shortcut. Three free printable poster templates, the size that actually works, what to write when the marker is in your hand, and where to print all of it the same day.

What Size Should a Senior Night Poster Be?

The standard is 22x28 poster board. It is big enough to read from the bleachers, small enough to tape to a fence or hold during the walk, and every print shop and drugstore photo center carries it. Our templates are built on letter-size pages in the same proportions, so you can print them at home and hand-finish them, or hand the PDF to a print shop and ask for 22x28.

    Three Free Printable Poster Templates

Print, then finish by hand. Every blank is meant for a marker: name, number, class year, photos from the fridge door. A hand-finished poster reads as love from the stands, which is the whole point.

    Template 1: The Walkout

The classic. Big headline, a jersey-number box, a name line, and a photo square. One player, one poster, held up as he walks.

Template 2: The Career Stat Sheet

For the player whose story is bigger than one photo. Fill in seasons played, the moment everyone remembers, what he was known for, and where he is headed next, then tape photos from freshman year to now.

    Template 3: The Signature Board

Pass it around the locker room during the last week of practice. The whole team signs, and the poster becomes the keepsake after the night is over.

What to Write on a Senior Night Poster

Specific beats clever. The lines that land are the ones only his family or his team could write:

    • His name, number, and Class of year. Readable from thirty feet. Everything else is optional.
    • One specific memory: the overtime goal, the broken-glasses game, the 6 a.m. practices.
    • "Four years, every practice, every bus ride. We saw all of it."
    • From teammates: an inside joke beats a quote from the internet every time.

Where to Print a Senior Night Poster Fast

Same-day options, in rough order of speed: Walgreens Photo (same-day board prints in most stores), CVS Photo, Staples, FedEx Office, and Office Depot. Bring the PDF on a phone or flash drive and ask for 22x28. If the night is tomorrow, print letter-size at home, mount it on poster board, and let the hand-finishing carry it.

    After the Posters Come Down

The posters come down and the flowers fade by Monday. If you want him to keep something from the night, that is the half we handle. Our senior night gift guide covers every boys sport with real prices, and the football and soccer pages go deeper: the football senior night parent guide, the soccer senior night planning guide, and the engraved pieces themselves in our football and soccer senior night collections.

The Poster Is for the Night. The Gift Is for After.
Every engraved senior night gift we make carries the player's own name, number, and year, made in our Monroe, Connecticut shop. Ordering for a whole senior class? Send your list through our contact page and we will check every spelling before it hits the engraver.

    Senior Night Poster FAQ

What size poster board for senior night? 22x28 is the standard. It reads from the stands and fits every fence and railing.

Can I print these templates at home? Yes. They are letter-size PDFs. Print at home and mount on poster board, or hand the file to any print counter and ask for 22x28.

When should posters be made? The week before the last home game. Same-day printing exists, but signatures and photos take longer to collect than anyone expects.

What goes on the poster? Name, number, a photo, and the class year, all readable from thirty feet. One specific memory beats a paragraph.
